Hello everyone. I am interested to know if any of your loved ones suffering with OCD have been strong enough to read any of the self help books out there and whether they have helped?
Also interested to know the titles of any helpful books. I have seen a book " talking back to OCD" has anyone read it? Is it any good?
Hello. My 19 year old son has severe OCD which he's had for 4 years. It has steadily got worse and he is now pretty much bed bound. Sleeps a lot during the day and in the bathroom most of the night. He hasn't left the house in almost a year. He has had 2 rounds of CBT and is on antidepressants and an antipsychotic medications. He is under a psychiatrist who saw him about 6 months ago but is not having any other treatment. I really feel that he needs specialist inpatient help but how likely is this?? Life is truly a nightmare for him and the whole family!
Hello Fedupmum55 ,
Sorry it's taken so long to reply. I haven't been on the site for some time. Sadly nothing positive has changed for my son. His case has been referred to this OATS panel by the psychiatrist which is done to secure funding to go out of area for treatment.
