I really related to 'As good as it gets' with Jack Nicholson and Helen Hunt. I thought it conveyed the way OCD can make your life (too) orderly and restrained, and how hard it is to cope with radical changes, even if they will eventually mean greater happiness.

It made me laugh (with him or the situation, not at him) and it made me cry too. That sort of sums up how I try to live with OCD - cry and then try to see the humour, especially when viewed through the eyes of someone who doesn't suffer the thought processes of OCD.

It's regularly on tv, and available on dvd. I hope you enjoy it - I've watched it several times.

(Link removed as site attempts to download malware. Caps)

I found this really helped me, then again im a medical student so....

But it highlights very poigniantly how serious OCD can be, though it begins in such a light hearted manner.

Hope you enjoy.

One day i hope 2 make a film about OCD

I dont know what to name my film, but i mite call it OCD.

The name just came 2 me out of nowhere.

Hi folks, a good film from 2004 made by Granada TV was Dirty Filthy Love.

Starring Michael Sheen as Mark Furness, he suffers OCD (checking, washing, counting and hoarding) in addition to Tourettes.

It's a powerful yet quite humourous portrait of how OCD affects him and aspects of his life and his involvement with a support group of other OCDers.

It's available on DVD at Amazon and other online retailers.

The Aviator has to be one of the best I feel, although primarily about Hughes’ genius, his OCD was featured throughout.

I was not comfortable with ‘As Good As It Gets’, I felt that Jack Nicholson’s character was quite obnoxious and not the kind of person I would want people to think we are!

‘What About Bob?’ featured a much more endearing character, his psychiatrist was portrayed as less pleasant (in fact quite arrogant). Which is often true to life, I feel.

I did enjoy ‘Dirty Filthy Love’, but found little humour in it. I did chuckle at the farmyard scene and the comments by the farmer. However, I found it very poignant and a pretty accurate view of the condition. The scene where he was banging his head on the side of the van moved me to tears. In the past, I did the same to try (in vain) to eliminate an unbearably painful obsession.
