Last weekend was the first running event from the amazing Sarah Guy, who is doing an unbelievable amount of running this year -- all in the name of helping people with OCD through raising awareness and donations!
This year, Sarah will be competing in an astonishing nine running events this year. That’s a huge amount of commitment, so thank you so much Sarah!
These are all the runs Sarah will be involved in:
- 19 March: Thirsk 10 Miler
- 22 April: Hamsterley Forest 10K
- 7 May: Sunderland Half Marathon
- 28 May: Northallerton 10K
- 9 July: Great North 10K
- 13 August: Darlington 10K
- 3 September: Tees Pride 10K
- 10 September: Great North Run
- 8 October: Plusnet Yorkshire Marathon
That’s a whopping 150km of running in total -- in the space of just seven months!
OCD has affected my life for over a decade. Having emailed back and forth with a couple of different charities about raising money for them through my running, I decided to go with OCD Action as it quite simply feels like the right choice.
Sarah began her journey last Sunday in the Thirsk 10 Miler. Despite coming down with a nasty cold the day before the event, the run was a huge success: she managed to complete the 10 mile run in 01:29:36, which she was “over the moon” with.
So congratulations to Sarah, and we wish her the very best of luck for her upcoming running challenges!
