OCD Action services over the festive season

The OCD Action office will be open up to and including Friday 21st December and will re-open Thursday 2nd January.  We will continue to run some of our support services over Christmas, as we realise that it can be just as difficult time as any for people affected by OCD, BDD or a related disorder.

Our online Forums run 24/7 365 days of the year, thanks to the hard work and dedication of our moderators. The Forums are a great place to receive peer support from other people in similar situations. The moderators will be taking care of the forums over the festive season so they will continue to run as usual.

Skype/Phone support groups

OCD Action Skype/Phone support groups will continue to run over the festive period and we will still be taking new registrations too, thanks to our wonderful Even Better Together team! If you would like to register for a Skype/Phone support group, please email sign-up@ebtsupportgroups.co.uk.

Our Helpline will also continue to run over Christmas, thanks to the support and dedication of our fantastic team of Helpline Volunteers. We will be running a more limited service and please note the Helpline will be closed on Bank Holidays (Christmas Day, Boxing Day, New Years Day). We urge anyone who calls us to please leave a message so we can get back to you when we have a volunteer available. You can also email the Helpline for support or information.

Call: 0845 390 6232.

Please note that we are not a crisis service, so it is unlikely that we will be able to respond straight away and it may be a few days before you receive a call back.

Our Youth e-Helpline email service will continue over Christmas thanks to our hard-working youth volunteers, but again with limited availability. If you're a young person with OCD, or if you are concerned you may have OCD, please email the team for support and information.

For 24 hour assistance, please call Samaritans on 116 123, or you can present at your local A&E which will be open every day of the year if you need urgent care.

We hope you have a peaceful Christmas and all the very best for the New Year.

OCD Action is able to run these services due to the generous and kind donations from our supporters. If you would like to help us to keep supporting those desperately in need over the Christmas period, please make a donation here. Even a small one could make a huge difference to someone with OCD this Christmas.
