With the summer coming up, it feels like a good time to go out for a swim. Hannah Keep, one of our fundraisers, is doing just that. But not just any swim: Hannah is going to be swimming a whopping 10km!
On 12th June, Hannah will be taking place in the Great North Swim. Taking place in the gorgeous Lake Windermere in the Lake District National Park, the event is the biggest open water swimming event in Europe. It’s equivalent to around 400 laps of a 25m pool, so not one for the faint-hearted!
Hannah considers OCD a cause close to her heart, and so we’re proud to announce that she’s chosen us as the charity to raise funds for.
Hannah says on her preparation for the swim:
10K is a really long way (the event is known as the swimmer's marathon) and right now it's taking all my strength to stop myself from googling 'What kind of eels live in Lake Windermere?' and 'Has there ever been a piranha sighting in the Lake District?' But, after all my training, I would be so very appreciative of your sponsorship. It's going to a worthwhile cause. Thank you!
So check out Hannah’s JustGiving page. She’s already managed to raise a marvellous £475 out of a target of £1000, so get donating and help her achieve it!
Best of luck to you Hannah, and thank you so much for everything you’re doing for the charity.
