The OCD Action Helpline currently offers support and information to people affected by OCD, BDD and related disorders, over the phone and by email. We recently decided to expand this service, and are now very pleased to announce that as of September, we will also be offering an e-Helpline instant messaging service for young people!
The OCD Youth e-Helpline is the first ever virtual helpline for young people under 25 affected by OCD! The idea is for young people with OCD to be able to talk to someone a bit closer to their own age to get information and support, via an instant messaging service.
So we have two very exciting opportunities to join the OCD Action team, and help people affected by OCD via our Helpline!
We are looking for
- e-Helpline volunteers
- London based Helpline volunteers
We are looking for volunteers aged between 18 and 30, who have been affected by OCD to volunteer on our BRAND NEW e-Helpline. This volunteering role can be carried out from home, or from our London office - whatever is easiest for you. You will need to attend four online training dates:
Session 1: 18th August
Session 2: 20th August
Session 3: 25th August
Session 4: 27th August
To find out more and to apply for this role, download the e-Helpline Volunteer pack! The application deadline for this role is 9am on the 17th August, so don't miss out!
We are looking for London based volunteers to join our fantastic team of current Helpline volunteers. This role will require you to take calls via the Helpline phone service, as well as responding to Helpline emails from our London office. We are looking for volunteers who have personal experience of OCD or BDD, either first hand, or through a family member or friend. If your application is successful, you will then attend two training days in London (dates TBC), where you will learn all the skills needed to effectively answer helpline calls and emails.
The deadline for this application is 9pm on the 21st August.
If you have any questions about either of the roles available, please give the office a call on 020 7253 5272.
