We at OCD Action have been incredibly touched recently by the vast efforts of John-Paul “JP” Morris, who is planning to do no less than four huge fundraising events for OCD Action.
JP will be taking on these activities on in memory of his best friend, Dan Hulme, who sadly passed away recently. Dan, who JP describes as “the greatest bloke” and “like a brother”, had Obsessive Compulsive Disorder, and so JP is really going out of his way to raise as much money and awareness for OCD Action as possible, to ensure that people like his friend can get the help they need.
JP is organising a Doctor Who Night, a fancy-dress charity event dedicated to Dan’s memory taking place on the 28th May. All proceeds from the tickets will go to OCD Action, and it promises to be a great evening!
But that’s not all. JP will be taking part in the Manchester 10k on 22nd May. Then on 2nd July he will will be doing the Great Manchester Swim, a 1-mile open water swim through Salford Quays. And as if that wasn’t enough, he’s even planning to run the Chester Marathon in October!
Choosing Doctor Who as a theme is apt, as the Doctor is someone who stands up for the voiceless and underrepresented and would go to the ends of the earth for those he loves. With all JP is doing for Dan and others like him, he’s doing all of that and more.
Best of luck to JP in all his endeavours. Check out his JustGiving page and help him raise as much as he can in memory of Dan.
If you’ve got any events coming up or ideas for fundraising activities, just get in touch with Phil at at or on 020 7253 5272 and we’ll give you as much help as you need.
But for now, thank you JP. And good luck!
