Gateshead Obsessive Compulsive Support Group

Gateshead Obsessive Compulsive Support Group (GOCSG) is a user-led community based support group.

It is user-led in that the very people who access the support group are leading, directing, and developing GOCSG.

All people attending the support group, especially for the first time, receive a warm, supportive welcome. There is much understanding how difficult it can be for a person to open up, and talk about fearful obsessive thoughts and compulsions.

Everything discussed in the support group is highly confidential, and remains in the group. There is a Code of Conduct within the information pack, that all members receive on their first visit.

GOCSG is an anti discriminatory anti oppressive support group. It is open to all people, regardless of disability, gender, sexual orientation, religion, black and ethnic minority groups, including all sections of British society. For example, Irish people. GOCSG can offer support to people over the age of seventeen.

GOCSG have social days where people can meet up and enjoy a day out together. Many people face social exclusion, not only because of the very nature of OCD, but also because of financial hardship. OCD has a systemic effect upon a person's life.

For more information, and for details of the exact location of the meetings then please contact GOCSG via either email or one of the numbers listed below
