Well it has been a very busy month, the new site seems to be popular and work is going well on OCD Week. I do get the feeling that we may have bitten off more than we can chew but we need to be ambitious and always looking at how we can help more people and make a bigger impact in their lives.
The last 3 days, I have been involved in our helpline training. It always amazes me that there are people out there who are prepared to give so much of their time to helping others . It is always a pleasure meeting new volunteers and bringing them into the ever expending OCD Action family, seeing new faces in the office and doing what we can to make the most of their new ideas and passions. The exciting news is that with this new group of helpline volunteers we are closer to the ultimate aim of extending helpline hours and offering a truly “out of hours” service.

I am interested in joining a Carers forum/support group.
I have just been diagnosed after suffering for 5 years straight after my daughter was born, could anyone give me some helpful advice please.
My wife of 18 years has been suffering in silence with OCD.It came to a head lastnight when we had a massive argument. It has now started to affect family life and as my son is about to take his GCSE’S I am worried these will be effected.I have only started reading about the condition recently .I regonise that my wife will not seek help as she sees this as a sign of weekness and does not like talking to people about it.She has constant thoughts of suicide which I only found out last night. I am at my whits end .Can some one give me any advice on how I can help her start treatment with out her knowing I am trying to help. I have suggested that she goes to her GP but she refuses.
