Students and OCD

Every year thousands of young adults leave home to study at university, for many this is the most exciting time of their lives.

For people with Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD) however the reality is beyond daunting with unfamiliar surroundings and unfamiliar people, providing an environment for the disorder to flourish.

Although OCD affects up to 1.8 million people in the UK, it is still relatively unknown.One of the main problems that people with OCD face is the lack of education on the subject.

From a young age we are made aware of Bulimia, anorexia,depression and many other mental health issues, but what about OCD?
