  1. Hi
I run a support group, and would like to chat with other support group leaders who are hoping to attend the OCD Action Support Group Leaders day in May. Would be nice to say hello and get to know each other, before we finally meet in May

  2. Hi Julia, i'm not a Support Group Leader unfortunately but just wanted to ask where this is happening and how many support groups there are around the country? I wasn't even aware that there were any, so this is all news to me but very welcome news. Pops

  3. Hi Poppyfields
There are over 50 support groups nationwide and we have them listed on this website ( just click on the blue "it's time to meet" button on the right of this page )

OCD Action thinks that support groups can play a vital part in helping people get better and stay better and we are working to help support groups attract members and share best practice. The meeting in may is for group leaders / facilitators and for people planning on setting up a group. We will be looking at group facilitation skills, how to make groups therapeutic as well as marketing and funding issues.

If you are interested in setting up a group just let me know and we can help you get going.

  4. Just a reminder to support group leaders / facilitators - we have about 5 places left for the meeting on Saturday 8th May in Birmingham. If you have not done so yet please call into the office and book a place. If you are thinking about starting a group, you are also welcome to attend.

    Thank you
    Joel

  5. Just to let everyone know that I will not now be attending the support group leaders meeting in May, having resigned as Group Facilitator due to family commitments. I will however remain a member of OCD Action, and a contributor to the excellent forum !
