    Hi everybody

Theres been a lot of tension on the forum recently. I hold my hand up and state that I'm probably responsible for at least 55% of it, but I wish to make amends with a lighter topic, which I think will help everybody to relax and could be fun. As you can probably tell, I stopped writing towards the end of the last sentence and lost the tempo for the topic. The thing I love about everybody here is that they don't judge me. Anyway, I went to the car boot sale today and picked up the following:

Nintendo Gamecube console with leads - £10
Prince of Persia: the two thrones and Warrior within x2 PS2 games £3
    Queen - Miracle album - 25p
    Queen - the essential collection - 25p

So, what did everybody else buy this week? Even if its food and weekly essentials, don't be shy. I want to know

Well, this was last week, but I bought some new shoes. This week I just bought myself lunch on Monday and Tuesday when I was at uni.

What do students live on these days? When I was at uni, it was either fish, beans and cheese or jacket potato with a cheese and pesto sauce. Breakfast was cool though. I'd have full english breakfasts. Not healthy, but then I really wasn't well

I mostly live on good homecooked stuff since I live at home (thank, God!) but for lunch at uni I usually buy nice sandwiches and wraps from one of the shops on campus. On Tuesdays I often have something hot, and I will usually have a jacket potato, lol, so I am trying to live up to the student diet!

I always seem to be hungry these days. I have to stop myself buying 2 lunches at uni sometimes, and I'm always nibbling at home, lol. I think it's because I'm tired a lot of the time, so I get energy from food rather than sleep.

I lack energy too. I still wake up every morning and am sooooo tired. Personally I'm glad I don't go to uni anymore. It was the worst 2 years of my life (my third year wasn't actually too bad), although I know if I'm gonna have a chance of getting out of my current job, I'll need to go back,

I really hate uni, I must say. It's not fun, it's not exciting, it's just a lot of work. And I don't even know if I'll end up with a decent job at the end of it. Makes me wonder what the point is...oh dear, there goes my positivity. That didn't last long, did it? I better go now, anyway. Have to get to bed, so I can get up early in the morning. Yay.

Goodnight. You have a good sleep now. Consider that a small blip, on an otherwise cheerful Helz

That Gamecube was a real bargain, good find! Enjoy the games!

Today I bought a Mothers Day card for my mum (obviously), a bottle of water (exciting!), a spicy tuna and bean wrap, some cheese flavour Snack-a-Jacks (they were both for lunch), and a bag of "Randoms" sweets (as a treat!).

A boot sale, or car boot sale, is what you would call a garage sale. They're often held on rainy Sundays, in fields, where people turn up in their cars and put all the stuff they want to sell on display, then other people come along and buy it, usually at rockbottom prices. I believe a boot is known as a trunk in your lingo.

Jacket potatoes are big baked potatoes with thick crisped skin that is like a jacket. You cut it open and add any topping you like to it, the most common probably being butter, cheese or baked beans, or all 3, haha!

And you know what a curry is, right, lol?

    Also, nice buys!

  22. Yes I know curry. We just call 'jacket potatoes' 'baked potatoes'. I like the term though because it is like a jacket isnt it?
I dont know the 'Randoms' nor do I know 'Snack-a-Jacks'...we do have 'Cracker Jacks' which is a caramel popcorn peanut snack with a prize inside. Same thing?

Randoms are fruit flavoured sweets, and Snack-a-Jacks are bags of mini rice cakes. I was going to say they're a good alternative to crisps, but you call crisps chips, which is confusing because to us chips are fries...lol!

    Mon Mar 8 2010 20:51:42 #
  24. lol...we are a mixed up bunch...do you have smoothies? Blended frozen fruit and juice and yougurt?

We do have smoothies, some of which are like that, but they're mostly just fresh fruit, I think.

    Mon Mar 8 2010 21:06:34 #
  26. Yeah we have smoothies and I love em, what a good way to get your five a day lol! I love randoms too, they've got to be in my top ten favourite sweets along with with haribo.

    Mon Mar 8 2010 21:06:46 #

Hmmm, yes, Haribo, I haven't had them for ages! I try not to eat too many sweets, but if I have to give in I'll go for something fruity, haha.
