  1. Hi All,

With my OCD, it has caused me to lose weight. I wasn't under weight before, but the weight is still coming off of me.

Has anyone else had this problem and if so, was there anything you did that helped you to gain the weight or stop it from coming off?

    Thanks
    Merlin

  2. Hi Merlin
Sorry can't help you with this one. Is your OCD anything to do with food or do you exercise excessively? If you can work out why the weight is coming off you will have a better idea of what you need to do to get it back on.

  3. Hi

Yes - experienced loss of weight over the past few months. I personally attribute it in my case to all the energy involved in checking and the outset of depression that has weakened my appetite. I have seen a doctor about it and he has referred me for blood tests to test if there are physical rather than psychological reasons behind the weight loss. Think this is a good policy. David

  4. Hi,

Thank you both for your responses.

My OCD is contamination, I don't exercise excessively. I used to play football but I gave that up recently as I didn't want anything contributing to the weight loss. Over the past few months I have had 3 blood tests which have pretty much ruled out most possible things that would explain the weight loss, I have had numerous visits to the dr's and a dietician, who have all scratched their heads as to why I have been losing the weight. Over Christmas I went to Spain for 10 days with my wife and son, to stay with my in-laws, I ate and ate and drank a lot, I snacked a lot, came back and weighed myself and I was exactly the same weight as when I went.

It is starting to really get me down now as all of my clothes no longer fit, and nothing can explain the amount of weight I have lost. It doesn't seem to make any difference what so ever if I drink and eat a lot as nothing helps in me putting weight on.

    Alex
