  1. Did anyone watch The Prisoner (ITV 1 Saturday 17th April 9 pm) and if so, what did they think of it ? I havent yet made up my mind if I am going to watch part 2, but I can understand that some people may find it disturbing, as I did at times.

  4. Poppy,
It's a remake of the old cult '60s TV series with Patrick McGoohan (shows my age!)

    Number 6,
Very apt name, but am I getting confused or have you changed your forum name if so what was it before? You see I get easily confused and I don't think I can blame the OCD for that

  5. Hi Poppy and Truddles !

Dont worry Truddles, I can remember the 60s tv series with Patrick McGoohan too !! I was never a fan, but was interested and curious to see it was being remade.

Incidentally, I used to post under the name of Julia_C when I ran a support group, but since resigning (due to family commitments), I decided to change me name. And like the character in The Prisoner, I have/and still do, feel at odds with the world at times and unsure of of whats real and what isnt

    Number 6 (aka Julia

  6. Ah, I thought it was you, I was just a tad confused - not that it takes much to confuse me these days

I have to say it was absolutely brilliant. I'm compelled to watch it now to see what happens. It makes no sense, but then again neither did the original series. Now that I realise I have OCD, I use it as a means of exposure. I imagine what my life would be like in the village. Would it be good? I may actually enjoy that kind of life.

  8. Hi Gigolo !
Yeah it didnt make much sense and am not sure why Number 2 likes cherry cake so much!! However, I quite like the actor who plays the part of Number 6 (wasnt he in Memento too? ) and he is well cast for the role, as he has that air of desperation about him ! It has had mixed reviews, but for the most part, I enjoyed it, and am looking forward to part 2
Incidentally, Im not sure you are cut out for village life, Giles - like me, you are a free spirit and it might cramp your style

Oh believe you me living in Somerset is great in the sense that its quiet.

Mind you though, getting killed for thinking about having a life outside of the village is a bit extreme, but its a simple life and they may actually program me to be non OCD. You get assigned your own house and get a nice, simple blameless life and you get a number, rather than a name. If the village grows anymore, they'll have to start using mac codes, lol!

I'd get assigned my own girlfriend and although everything would be routine and repetitive, I'd like that robotic sort of life, where there is no danger of being corrupted and turned into something I don't want to be.

You could then say, you can't run away from who you are. Lets just hope I'm not a pedo then :S
