  1. Welcome to the OCD Action Great Easter Egg Hunt, an Easter egg hunt with a difference.

The Easter bunny has been careless and on his travels has managed to lose all of the eggs that he had in his enormous basket.

As this is a virtual Easter egg hunt we need you to describe the egg, where you found it and any obstacles – OCD or otherwise that you may have had to overcome in order to retrieve the egg.

It’s a beautiful spring day and the sun is shining so I decided to go for a long cycle ride in the country. So I got on my bike and off I went. The sun was warm on my back and as I cycled through the country lanes I passed by hedgerows that were full of blossom, wild flowers growing in profusion on the grass verges and baby lambs frolicking in the fields.

After about an hour I decided to stop to eat the picnic that I had brought with me. I stopped near a brook with crystal clear water in it and sat down to eat my picnic. Suddenly I saw a flash of red and gold on the other side of the brook. I put down the sandwich that I was eating and went to investigate.

As I drew closer I saw that it was a brightly painted egg, someone must have dropped it. But how could I get it when I don’t like getting wet? Then further upstream I saw some stepping stones in the brook that I could use. So I used the stepping stones to cross the brook but half way across I slipped and fell in. Oh the shame of it I looked like a drowned rat, not a good look for a fox
Finally I reached the egg, it was a beautiful ceramic egg painted in red with a pattern on it using what appeared to be gold leaf. I put it in my now soggy pocket and returned to my picnic.

It’s strange to find a painted egg out in the middle of nowhere Perhaps someone’s organised an Easter egg hunt. I'm going to pack up my picnic and go and see if I can find more eggs, preferably one that I can eat

It must be an Easter egg hunt as I can see more people searching in the distance.

  2. Well I went swimming with my kids today, and a we were driving to the baths I noticed that there was something on the road. Well, I'm not allowed to pick things up off the road (due to my OCD about it) so I drove on.

When we got to the baths I noticed something beside the lockers, but I was too busy not checking the doors to look at it.

As we walked to the pool I noticed something by an electric socket, but I'm not allowed to check electric sockets any more so I walked by it.

When I got to the side of the pool I noticed something by the sauna. But I can't do anything about the sauna so I didn't look at it.

So where did Soxon put all these eggs?

  3. This afternoon I was outside with a paintbrush looking for places where the pressure washer had taken paint off the walls. I had just painted the back doorstep and the geriatric hen came out onto it and then walked down the path leaving tiny magnolia hen prints. So I followed the trail which took me to a hen house and I took a peek under the broody bantam hen and there were four little magnolia eggs - I don't know if Soxon left them there but the dogs said they were very tasty.

  4. Has anyone seen my brightly coloured eggs? I've forgotten where I put them.

Getting forgetful in my old age.

  5. Hi Bingo
You left a small pile of them in our hay store but it's too late now, we found six mulicoloured chicks in there.

  6. Many thanks Tess. Please look after them and they will turn out as colourful and delightful as me.

By they way, I think I also left some more eggs on a hill somewhere.

  7. I'm really depressed and so wandered up to the hill to sit and quietly contemplate how crap my life is at the moment.
As I walked up the hill I found that bingo had indeed left some eggs on the hill. Hidden in a clump of long grass was a small wicker basket and in it were several eggs all covered in brightly coloured foil.
Tess, you might have got the eggs that hatched but I got the chocolate ones
Good job that I had a packet of baby wipes in my bag. It meant that I was able to sit quietly and clean the foil on each egg as they'd been in the grass and were dirty - real dirt not OCD dirt
I then pigged out on the various types of chocolate egg. I'm now covered in melted chocolate and so need the trusty baby wipes again
Wonder if bingo left any more eggs on the hill? I might go and see if there are any hidden in the hole that Soxon uses
