Good afternoon. I am sorry it has taken so long, but I am just writing to tell you that the book about OCD from our perspective is finished and I am now trying to get it published. The title is: 'Obsessions, Compulsions and Optimism'. The contributions were of a very high quality and I had 230 completed surveys so it has resulted in a high quality book. I am so grateful to all of you members who helped me. However, because of these hard times, I have realised that I will have to show that it will sell in order to get it published in paper form. Unfortunately, my favoured publisher who had shown an interest turned it down for profit reasons. I am unhappy to try the other two or fund raise for the purpose of self publishing until I can show that we will be able to sell it. I don't think this is the place to try to market it even though it is a non-profit book with all profits going to OCD charities including OCD Action. But I am going to open a new Face book page named: Obsessive Compulsive Disorder; The book, with the help of a few friends I have made. I hope some of you will have a look at the page and considering signing up. I will keep you updated. Anne.

  2. Anne,
What an opportunity to be able to read a book from sufferer's perspectives. One that I certainly would not miss and would say 100%,that I would definately buy the book. I can only imagine how interesting it will be to read and how helpful it could be as well. I hope that other people will be interested in the book and feel supportive to you by being able to say that they would buy it. Is this what would be helpful, to know how many people are interested? How can we help? Thanks.

Thanks for posting McFlyFlurry. The book took a lot longer to finish because my husband was seriously ill in December, January and March last year and it was hard getting back into it. He is well now and retired and this has allowed me to do the finishing touches. I am hoping that all of those who helped with the book will read this message as I feel sure that they will want to buy a copy especially as it is all for charity. If anyone would like details of the layout etc I will be most happy to provide it. Anne.

  7. Hi Anne, have you considered using Amazon kindle publishing? It looks quite good, and I'm thinking of putting my own work on that. I reckon paper publishers will check it out too. You could sell the work digitally to get it started. People will be able to download it on to e-book readers like Kindle, android, and I-phone.

Hi, yes I have, and I know that I will need to have a Kindle version because many sufferers of contamination OCD cannot handle books. However, the book does need to be printed on paper as there is a great pullout section (diary, self help sheet for emergencies compiled for the book by me and by Andrew Colley (who is a published author) which would not work with an ebook format. I will keep everyone updated when I have more news. Thanks for your support. Anne. ps I still need a cover for the book... Are there any artists or cartoonists who would be interested.

  9. Hi Anne,

Wish you the very best Sorry I don't post on the facebook page but I think facebook tells my friends what I do so I don't want them to know

Really hope you get a publisher! Keep trying! How about asking the NHS? Or something like that
