  3. Hi Twitchy -

thanks for the lovely call, and hey, you're a wonderful new member here! I had to giggle a bit about your funny way turn of phrase: 'understand me and my head'... I hope your head is part of that 'me'

Anyway, your remark that being understood is a massive step for you is so encouraging for all of us. Good to read that.

    Best, Cuthbert.

    Hi Twitchy,

it's brilliant that you have already benefited from joining this forum. It's been a wonderful discovery for many of us!

I think it's great that you're already offering to help other people. That speaks volumes about you. OCD sufferers very often become convinced that they're bad, or not normal, or not as good as other people. The irony is, that they often spend huge parts of their lives worrying about other people!

The very fact that you are offering to help others tells me that you are good people.

You have probably already seen how helpful some of the other people on here are. Members like Tess, Truddles, Slogsweep, Wannabefree, BT, Aishah, and many others, are on here regularly, offering help and advice to other OCD sufferers. All of their help and advice -- and now yours -- will make such a huge, positive difference to lots of people who have come to this forum because they are suffering and in pain, because of their illness -- OCD.

I'm glad that you've joined their ranks.

One of the most important things that you and others can do on here is to help to educate people about OCD, and to learn and then educate other sufferers about the treatments that are available and have been proven to help the lives of OCD sufferers all around the world.

Remember my new catchphrase: "CBT is not just for Christmas -- it's for life!"

  5. Hi Twitchy, it's a real pleasure to have you on board, in fact I can't remember a time in the last two years since I joined when the forum has been such a lovely place with so much support and friendship and it takes old and new members to work in harmony to achieve that - so a big thank you to all our lovely new members, including you Twitchy.

  6. Hi Tess -

did you notice it too, then? I have the impression, for some time now, that threads just keep rolling and rolling and new stuff is coming in much more frequently... it is very stimulating.

  7. Absolutely Cuthbert, it's super isn't it - lets hope this sets the standard for the future and we can even build on it.

  8. PS It seems to be getting more and more like a support group. The combination of problems and support interspersed with occasional humour is exactly what goes on in our support group and we have become a family. I guess it's only possible to acheive this online if there is a core of members willing to log in and contribute on a very regular basis as in the past there have not been as many regular members coming on consistently.

  9. Hi Tess, I agree, and it is the best support group I have ever known, and I really apreciate it... It has been an absolute lifesaver for me...
