  1. Hi;
    I know this is probably quite a sensitive topic but i was wondering if theres anyone else who self-harms? You don't have to post on the forums if you don't want to, just PM me or something, just i need a hat with someon about it.
    Thanks,
    Xx

  2. Hi
    I did some research on this, it is a very wide and serious subject and there are many different types of self harm.
    This is what is says on the SANE website: It is known that at least 140,000 young people present at casualty departments in the UK each year as a result of self-harm but it is believed that the actual incidence of self-harm is much higher.
    I worked this out to one young person every 4 minutes, day and night.
    Obviously not all of them have OCD but some of them do. So I think you have been very brave bringing this onto the forum because people who feel that self harming is the only way to relieve their distress need to feel able to talk about it and get support.
    So the answer to your question if there's anyone else whom self harms is Yes but a large percentage of them are too ashamed or embarrassed to tell anyone.

  3. Hi,
    Thanks for your reply. I know its not something that people are proud of or happy about which is why i said that people don't have to post on the forums, they can just PM instead, but it is something that should be addressed and at the moment is not seen as something as common as is suggested by the figures you gave.
    I hope someone else can talk about it, I know how difficult it is, but its for the best.
    Xx
