  1. Has anyone had any experience of primary obsessional slowness. My teenage son has this, and can take 3 hours to eat a meal. It drives us crazy!!

  2. Hi Gray,

    Welcome to the forum.

I'm afraid I'm unable to help as I've no experience of this (I'm a fast eater), but I didn't want your post to go unanswered. Also by replying to you it will push this to the top of the discussion list again and perhaps someone who is able to assist will see the post.

    Best wishes
    Trudy

  3. MEEEEEEE!!!! I take hours to do eveything! Just try to support your son, get him some help, its not his fault.

    hope this helps! Ella.

  4. I suspect I might have this!. I eat quite quickly but it can take me ages to perform tasks that others complete in next to no time.
I've tended to put this down to my 'perfectionist'/ OCD tendencies, feeling lethargic (I'm a bit prone to iron deficiency and sometimes have problems sleeping) and my tendency to daydream.

Has your son identified and explained the reasons why it takes him so long to eat etc? Perhaps he has a very specific 'routine' that he feels compelled to follow? (the rituals associated with OCD can slow people down considerably). Also, is he receiving any help with his condition?
