Just to wish everyone who is holding Awareness Days tomorrow a really fulfilling and successful day.
We jumped the gun here in Cornwall and held ours yesterday (as venue was not available for 12th). The general view was that it had gone extremely well. The start was a bit worrying, after half an hour no-one had darkened our doors but then it took off and we had a steady stream of people coming in so the room always felt busy, but we had enough helpers to give everyone some quality time for support and advice. We arranged 6 small tables into a large rectangle for the teas and coffees which worked really well. Those who wanted a one-one chat could occupy a corner, otherwise it was like a big family group all sitting round one table so no-one felt left out.
Seems we have gained about 4 new members for our local support group and most of the OCD Action literature which Jyothi sent has gone off to do it's work some via a volunteer centre manager who dropped in.
good luck everyone for tomorrow, please let us know how you get on, Joyce
