  1. Hi everyone

We're very happy to announce, along with the South London and Maudsley Hospital, the launch of the OCD Parents’ Support Project.

This new project will provide monthly online seminars, support groups, chat forums and information specifically aimed at parents of young people with OCD.

Our first event will be a seminar on Tuesday 15th November at 7pm entitled “Supporting your child through Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT)” presented by a clinical psychologist from the South London and Maudsley Hospital National and Specialist OCD CAMHS team, with time afterwards for Q&A.

This will be followed at 8pm by OCD Action’s first parents only support group. The seminar and support group are both based ONLINE and will be FREE meaning you can sign in at any time during the session, from anywhere around the UK.

To register your place for the first event, or to find out more about any other aspect of the project, call or email Ilana on 020 7253 5272 or ilana@ocdaction.org.uk.

Please also pass this information on to any other parents you know who may be able to benefit from this project – it’s open to all parents of young people with OCD.

Best wishes and look forward to seeing you there

    Ilana

  4. Hi llana

My daughter is 11 and was diagnosed with OCD in May this year. I am interested in getting involved in any way with support groups, volunteering etc to try and help my daughter and the rest of the family who have been devastated by this (She has an identical twin sister and younger brother)She has been in hospital since June. I am based in Manchester so wouldn't be able to attend seminars but am really pleased about online support group as have been asking the hospital if there are any in our area.

    Count me in!

    thank you

  7. Don't forget the next session will be on Tuesday 20th December at 7pm and will be an open Q&A session to ask the questions you really feel you need answered but have never had the chance to ask. Again it will be followed by the support group and will all be online and free. Attendance is by invitation only so please make sure you are in touch with Ilana in advance to get your name on the list.

    Email Ilana at ilana@ocdaction.org.uk or call 020 7253 5272.

  8. Hi,
I attended the most recent Parent Support Seminar but had technical problems and missed quite a lot of the discussion. I couldn't make it to the phone session and I wondered if there is anywhere specific that Partent Support Group members discuss the sessions.
    Thanks
