Coffee break
The scene: Nigel and Jules have been assigned to a murder investigation in Scotland as part of a relationship building exercise between the US government and the Scottish parliament. This could be big for Nigel and Jules’ career, this could be very big.
Gov: Ok team gather around, we have two additions to the team today, Nigel and Jules from the Miami FBI; they’re here to help us finally solve the mystery of the legend that is the Loch Ness Monster. So play good and make them feel welcome.
Jules is getting very anxious about having to shake the hands of his new colleagues in case he transfers an item to their hands. He starts checking his hands in a manner that looks like he is starting some tribal dance.......
Jules and Nigel are at Loch Ness with the team. The guys split up and shortly before dusk Jules can hear what sounds like scurrying in the underground. He gets his camera ready as he finally things he may get the evidence that will change his life. As he peers over the bushes he is hiding in he realises it’s only Nigel walking backwards and forwards retracing his steps in case he dropped something in the grass that he didn’t have. As Nigel notices Jules watching he gets frustrated but then notices that Jules is now staring beyond him with his jaw open and clutches his camera with shaking hands whilst lifting it to take a photo. Nigel turns to see a site that almost stops his heart. It’s the Loch Ness Monster it’s real. Nigel has to do a double take, not because he doesn’t believe his eyes but because his OCD requires him to do everything in two’s.
In almost an instance the living legend that is the Loch Ness Monster is gone again under the water, which is already starting to settle and look peaceful under the fading light.
The boys stay at the site for a few more hours and uncover various artefacts that have been brought ashore by the monster. They go back to the office to drop all the collection and equipment before turning in for the night, however they wouldn’t sleep thinking of the excitement this discover will mean when the world finds out tomorrow.
The next day...
Jules wakes up to find Nigel nowhere in the hotel. He heads to the office to find Nigel already there grinning from ear to ear.
Nigel: I couldn’t sleep so I thought I would come in here get things ready.
Jules: Get things ready? (says Jules staring at the gleaming items on the table)
Nigel: Yes, I have cleaned each items and cleaned it again to make sure it is shiny with no germs anyway, I think, before the presentation. Maybe it’s not enough; maybe I should clean them once more!
Jules has gone a shade of red and is getting redder buy the minute.
Jules: What about the camera?
Nigel: Oh, erm yes, I cleaned that too, erm I haven’t tested it, I needed to clean it thoroughly, I think it works okay!
Jules: Arrrrrghhhhhhhhhhhhh (is Jules’ reaction as he realised that all the DNA and the pictures have been wiped for good and that there discovery is again that of mystery and legend).
