  1. Does anyone else feel like me that there is not enough support for us as parents/carers of our loved ones who have OCD?
Dont get me wrong, I do find it helpful being here from a caring perspective, but find myself posting about my son's struggles in the main OCD area of this forum, as that it where posts are mostly read and taken notice of.
I have had some helpful responses, and folks have been great, BUT do you feel that there isnt enough help and support out there for us as carers?
I live in East Sussex, and have tried before to post to see if anyone is in my area for a coffee and chat, but no response so far.
Even if you dont live near me, but are a carer to a loved one with ocd, maybe we could have an online email support network?
Reply here or pm me please if you agree!
    Thanks!

  2. Hi Jen,

I agree with you about carers needing more support and sent you a PM this morning

  3. Thanks Trudy, I have replied to your pm.

I will try to individually email some of the carers who have posted here, as appreciate that they may not come onto this forum very much.
Will let you know how it goes!
    Take care, and thanks again.

  4. Hi Trudy, my sister has been diagnosed with OCD which has been so severe for months that she doesnt eat or drink for days. Im worried for my mother who is really at her wits end. It really seems that there is no one that gives advice on what a carer should do with someone who is slowly severely affecting their health. My sister doesnt believe she has OCD and therefore does not accept anyone advise, and it seems that getting her to the specialist clinic, which my parents tried last week, is impossible. The distress of taking her there made her worse and after 3 days of not even having a drink of water they had to take her home again. I agree with you there doesnt seem to be anyone that takes ownership and takes action to help.

  5. Hi Jenny

Have just read your post and totally agree with you about support for carers. My 15 yr old son is in the throes of a really bad relapse - he's undergoing therapy at the moment but a huge amount of the support for him still falls to me and I'm so tired trying to cope all the time. If you want to be in contact just for some mutual support just let me know.

    Keep strong!
