  1. Hi-I have just come into post as the new OCD Action Advocate and if you have any issues that you need help with, you can contact me on our main OCD Action helpline number(0845 390 6232) and I will do what I can to support you. If you live in Liverpool, Birmingham or Manchester, I will most likely be able to come and see you.

Advocacy is a really miusunderstood word, but its really about helping you to make your voice heard, so you can can have some say in what is happening to you. This could be to do with care or treatment or work or housing issues, the list is really endless- basically any situation were you need extra help/ support an Advocate should be able to assist you. You can read more about Advocacy if you access the tab on the new website. In the meantime, if your issue is one you don't mind discussing openly on the new 'Advocacy' forum (see forum list),then please do so, that might help others and I hope I could offer some pointers that would benefit everyone. Advocates generally are not medically or legally trained and therefore we cannot give direct advice, but we can help you get the specialist advice you might need and also explore your options with you.

I'll post a topic that has come up as an Advocacy issue on the Advocacy Forum very shortly, indeed if you have anything you want to air then let me know, until then, I hope that you will read up on the site and see if Advocacy is for you!
    Kind Regards
    Jude
