  2. HI swan,

I'm really pleased that you've got funding. I don't know what happens when you're an in-patient, I just had weekly out-patient sessions.

Hopefully someone else will be able to enlighten you.

    Good Luck
    Bridget

  4. Hey Swan,

That's a bit harsh. You asked if anyone can say what happens next. Maybe those who have been to the Maudsley have not been on yet. As for me and I guess most others, we haven't been there so can't answer your question. It's not that we don't care or think you are not worth replying to, it's just that we can't give you an answer.

But forget all that, the Maudsley has got an excellent reputation and I am sure all the rest of us wish you every success, so don't forget to let us know what happens and how you get on.

Go for it and make it work.

    All the best to you,
    Jerama

  5. Hi swan,

I'm so sorry for not replying sooner but didn't have a good day yesterday and did genuinely mean to reply

It's really good news that they've finally agreed to fund the Maudsley so that you can have treatment.

Sorry I too don't know how long the average wait is or what happens next. Perhaps you could ask your social worker to find out for you or to let you know who you can contact.

    Best wishes
    Trudy

  6. Hi Teresa
So pleased you have got funding. Sorry I didn't reply but I've never been to the Maudsley so can't tell you what to expect. But there's a good article about Centres of Excellence in the latest OCD Action newsletter and the Maudsley is classed as a Centre of Excellence for OCD so whatever it's like you will be getting the best treatment the NHS can offer.

  7. Hi Swan,

Sorry you felt upset that others hadn't replied to your post, unfortunately it happens sometimes when the forum is quiet.

It happened to me once, going back a few years, and I remember being quite upset at the time. I was suffering from bad depression at the time and that made it feel worse.

You are a very valued member of the forum and we all care about you and wish you well for your forthcoming treatment at the Maudsley. Like I say, I only have experience as an out-patient at the Maudsley, but I'm sure it won't be too long now before you know when you are to be admitted.

I can speak highly of the treatment I received there and I'm sure you will benefit too.

Let us know how you are.

    Take Care

  9. Given the immense strain that you've been under recently it's no wonder you were wanting to share when you got such long awaited good news and I can only apologise for my delay in replying.
So please don't worry you weren't impatient.
