  1. Hi Everyone,

I'm not sure if this is part of my OCD or just nothing.

Anyway everytime I see a knife - I get these images in my head and although they don't bother me, it's kind of weird to keep having it.

It's really hard to resist it though - some days it's really hard.
There's only really 1 thing stopping me - but I'm not sure that will last, if other people get involved.

Is this kind of similar to what other people get, that have these kind of thoughts?

Dear Nicola, We have missed you here. How did the trip go, yesterday?

I believe I know who is stopping you, have you discussed all this with her? I think most people are distressed by the kind of images you are speaking about. Did they upset you when you first experienced them? I'm not sure if you have become desensitized or whether the images involve a certain group of people and that's why you aren't distressed by them.

  3. Hiya,

It was ok - I was so sure something was going to happen - but nothing did.

Yeah you're thinking of the right person :D
I haven't told her yet - I guess I should when she is back - just the hour goes so fast and I'm not telling my nurse.

I was never bothered about it - it's mostly 1 person (sure you know who lol) and just random people.
Just with things happening now - I'm sure it's going to be with my nurse again, everything she says seems to have a different meaning and although I don't want anything to happen - I don't know if later - it will be the same.

  4. Can't say I understand all of this posting (I know who the person is that you haven't told yet, but the rest has me foxed). But if you have any more trouble with anything and want to discuss it some more, we're here when you need us.
    All the best,

  6. Hi,
I have in the past struggled wih looking at knifes to the point when i would put them out of sight at night as I was scared I might do something in my sleep.

  7. Thanks for the replies.

It's kind of different how I feel compared to some people on here then.
    There's 2 other reasons why I suppose.

I get like 0 anxiety about it - and it's kind of hard to tell what I really want.

  8. Thinking about knives gives me bad thoughts too, but when I use them for preparing food I have no problems. Sometimes I use a huge, sharp knife to cut large pieces of meat or to chop or cut vegetables and that is OK. But when I think of what damage and injuries can be casued by a knife I have problems. Whenever I am near a Sikh who is allowed to carry a knife in public and in contravention of the laws in the UK (which is racism in favour of Sikhs) I feel these same concerns. I know that the Sikh religion says that the knife should only be used for peaceful purposes but frankly there is no guaruntee that the individual carrying it will only use it for peaceful purposes (and that depends on how they define peaceful and given the recent case where a Sikh was arrested for injuring several people with a sword it is doubtful) or that it will not fall into the hands of others.

  9. I didn't know they could carry a knife - that sucks.

Well I think it's probably not OCD then, couple of things it could be, but maybe just fantasies as well.

  10. Ok I see them all - they treat me like a total joke.
They think I don't know, that they know, but I do, I'm not stupid.

I'll show them all, I've had enough of all of it

Dear Nicola, You are really worrying me. Have you spoken to T about all this?

  12. She's away, back next week.

It's just all of them, but yeah I will when she's back.

At least she understands, not like others, like my nurse, but yeah they'll all see.

  14. Nicola, you've lost me again. What is it you know and they don't and you're going to show them? Is it the camera thing or is it something else?
(That said, I won't be on here again for a week or so - we're going on holiday. But I think a lot of other people who would like to help will be puzzled by this thread as well.)
Hope the problem soon improves, whatever it is.
