  1. Hi

Last week I started a course of CBT with my Neurology Team and though my CBT therapist specialises in CBT for seizures he has a great understanding of OCD. He has decided that we need to concentrate on my OCD as that should help to reduce the seizures by reducing my anxiety levels.
It was such a relief to come across someone other than a fellow OCDer who actually understood the impact that the OCD has on my life. The last CBT that I had (only a partial course) wasn't really tailored to my needs and didn't take into account my physical problems. He seems to be working with me and I actually feel part of the process this time. Here's hoping that it produces results as the OCD is really making me depressed

  5. Thanks
Provided the CMHT don't poke their nose in like they did last year, it should go well.
I'm inspired by his empathy and positivity and hope that he can help me to move forwards out of this living hell.

  9. Hi everyone,
Thank you all for your messages of support. It means a lot to me
Another session today and I'm learning a lot about what's making my OCD tick and have already started my homework with fear and trepidation, but I'm doing it all the same This time he's explaining things then setting the homework accordingly.
I do hope that he's ok as I dropped my pen and refused to pick it up, so he did and rubbed it all over himself and then rubbed his hands in his hair and said 'See what I've just done and I'm ok!' To which I said 'More fool you mate ' The long and short of it is that he's keeping the pen and further down the line I've got to do exactly what he did today HELP!

You can do it, Trudy! It will take work, but you'll manage it eventually and it'll feel so good!
