Is Prozac the best medication for OCD?

    Has anyone had any improvement of OCD symptoms by taking Prozac?

    Hiya,

    I don't have OCD but I have BDD which is a related disorder.I have used Prozac and didn't find it helpfull at all but I know that it's a recomended medication to treat OCD by specialists.

    Give it a try and after 6 weeks approx if it doesn't help maybe you could ask for the dose to be increased but I can tell you that Prozac is what's called an SSRI medication of which these types of medication are chosen to treat OCD's.

    I took prozac as a teenager and it helped my OCD 99% however as an adult I suffered a relapse and it didnt work at all. With medication it is really suck it and see as there is no specific drug for OCD.

    Hi,
    I was on prozac for about three years but in the end it stopped working and meds were changed.
