Creative Commuity - Yeah, you need to check it more. SHMAE ON YOU MODERATORS!!!! Both me and Trudy summited stories LAST week and they're still not up. My suggestion is that you approve submissions for the Creative Commuity a h**l of a lot quicker. That is all. TRA!

  2. Hi Jess,

I am sorry that is taking too long - and you are quite right about that. Our problem is that we are quite a small charity and most of the work is carried out by volunteers (including me) who do the work in their spare time. We do far more than run a website, we have a helpline and send out hundreds of information packs and many, many more things including a lot of campagning to
improve things for sufferers and carers. Both the charity and the website/forum have become very much busier in recent times and it is difficult to get all of the work done and sometimes we have to prioritise. However, we have some plans in hand to improve the forum and this is one of the things we will be looking at.

    Best wishes,

Yesh well it's vital that you step on it because me and Trudy have both summited stories and I'm getting impatient. Tee hee hee!! And I know you're volunteers. You work for VFD. (Lemony Snicket humour, I come out with a load of it every now and then)

  4. Translation please Jess - "Lemony Snicket humour" and "VDF" (But keep it decent and to words that are in the English dictionary)

If you haven't read the books then you won't get the joke.

Lemony Snicket, he's the author. He writes the Series Of Undortunte Events books and once you're into them that's it. I keep making jokes about them. Mostly to do with the sugar bowl thing but yanno...

  9. Nimrod are all volunteers London based or can people work from other locations? I'd be interested in volunteering perhaps forum monitoring or something? I have a Degree in English and plenty of experience in general admin.

  10. Hi mattwords
As far as I know anyone can volunteer, I'm in Cornwall and I'm an awareness volunteer and OCD Action have been super in sending me anything I have needed. I only have to e-mail and within a few days it arrives in the post. There are lots of ways you can volunteer, if you go to the top of the page you will find details under the Help Us box.

  11. Hi Mattwords,

Sorry to take so long to reply, I've been away.

OCD Action only have an office in London so if it is "traditional" office work then clearly you need to be in London but there are many other ways you can do some work as a volunteer especially these days via the internet. Also, and most importantly we need awareness volunteers, as Tess has mentioned, and they can be anywhere, in fact the more we have all over the UK the better. There are other roles for volunteers. If you are interested in working on the forum then send me a PM. The best thing to do for everything else is to contact Joel, our Director at the office either by phone or email (joel@ocdaction.org.uk) and have a chat with him.

    Best wishes,
    Nimrod
