I would love to be able to have a small section for our OCD Awareness day in Cornwall on Humorous Stories and this is to ask if anyone has a true tale which they would be willing to contribute - it will all be kept anonymous.
To start the ball rolling here is one about a young lady with contamination OCD who started work at an animal rescue centre. All the cleaning out and picking up dog poo gave her no problems but using the staff toilet did - in a big way - so she worked out a solution, she would fit her toilet needs into the dog walking times, then she could go out to the nearby woods and find a quiet spot. One day she was squatting behind a bush when she felt something cold and wet on her bum, it was a dog's nose and it was very rapidly followed by it's male owner who was so gobsmacked he was transfixed to the spot, then turned and disappeared without a word. She says it was the most embarrassing experience of her life - but she still can't use a public toilet.
Are there any more stories out there? All contributions very gratefully received, Joyce

This made me laugh so much.

I can't match it. But just after I left the Bethlem a friend I met there came to stay with me. We went to The Big Sheep for the day and I got really anxious. I stood in the middle of a field checking all my clothes for contamination. This involved raising one leg at a time to feel all the way down. My friend was in total hysterics... she could not stop laughing - she said I looked like I was doing the hokey Kokey. Looking back now when the humiliation has gone away,I was far more entertaining than any of the sheep with their woolly jockeys on their backs.
