  1. Hello everyone -

I started a blog on OCD recently, to replace the old one. That one did not work out, the beginning was much too chaotic and unstructured (which was a fair representation of the situation in my mind at the time :-))

Now I began anew, and the pace is much more easy. I try not to treat all topics at once, but to introduce the reader into OCD stepwise.

Hence my requirement: if you have the time and are willing to contribute: please read what I wrote, or part of it, and if you see omissions or clear mistakes, then comment on those, or add something of your own experience. You may do that here, or in the blog itself. Needless to say, it's absolutely OK if you stay anonymous.

I must stress that there are no commercial interests hidden somewhere. And I chose the blog address known as http://www.wordpress.com, known all over the world as reliable. So you won't be offered a cool million dollars from Nigeria :D.

    My blog address: http://www.ocdinformation.wordpress.com

OK, I blew my own horn enough by now.

    Cheers to all, Cuthbert.

  2. Hi Cuthbert,

I saw your blog yesterday and it confused me as there was nought on it I must have logged on just as you set it up

Good story to start the blog as it shows how OCD creeps up on us. Will you be putting any of the information from your old blog on it?

I didn't think that you were blowing your horn you were just giving us the facts

  3. Hello Truddles -

thanks for the encouraging words! Yes, of course I will transfer from the old one to the new. It is of the essence that its structure will be logical, and that info from 'hard science' will be introduced very readably (I am thinking of giving links to easy-to-grasp outside sources too, like Wikipedia).

My next step will be to explain which different manifestations there are in OCD. This is an enormously intesting topic. Experts are debating feverishly about which types can be discerned, about the exact position of hoarding in all of this, and which new types may potentially be included.

Involvement of the visual system is another important issue. For instance, in Body Dysmorphic Disorder, patients seem to have trouble perceiving the whole of their faces (or other body parts), to integrate the information so to speak, at the favour of concentrating intensely on detail (a zit, a pimple, a nose that is ever so slightly tilted, and so on - and eventually an obsession is born, that may have terrible consequences).

    So: stay tuned, I'd say!

    Cheers from Cuthbert.

I am blushing in front of my screen! Thank you for your post - it's a real motive to go on with the unfolding story of OCD.
