  1. Hi,
I seem to be on a down hil slop right now and feeling so much worse than I have for long time. I am seeing psychiatrist on Thursday and he is going to put me on an additional SSR, the last time I was put on two SSR'S I felt more depressed and couldn't get out of bed.

  2. HEY swan,
so sorry you feel bad right now...and seems like you are depressed even thinking of the ssr..can you explain that they make you feel worse to your gp?
get a long appointment...with psychiatrist too... i cannot see what benefit you will have if you feel worse... you need to get them to work out a proper soloution..maybe you should go slowly with meds... until you find the right one... small doses... but i dont think you should just "do as you're told" so to speak... find out what feels best ...it is a trial error thing really... but definetly think needs more discussion..just to say hope you get that worked out... dont take just anything.PAUL

  3. Hi swan,

I'm glad to hear that you are going for a medication review. You should make sure that you explain to the psych your concerns about sedation. Some saris have little or no sedative effect, and as always, different people react differently to different drugs.

I know it sometimes takes a while to find the right combination of Meds and at one time I was heavily sedated (sleeping about 20 hours a day) when I was on a combination of mirtazapine and cloripromine, but I am now on fluvoxamine and it suits me much better.

    Don't give up!

    Best wishes

    David.

  4. Hi swan,

Sorry to hear that you're having such a rotten time at the moment.

Perhaps your psychiatrist could liaise with your neurologist regarding your medication?

  5. really sorry to hear you are having a difficult time. The highs and lows of OCD are hard to cope with; I hope they get your meds sorted out and you feel better soon. I know how hard it is to cope with OCD and I really sympathise. Try not to worry, let's hope they get the meds right and you'll feel better before too long

  6. Hi Trudy, I have suggested in the past that my nureologist and psychiatrist laise with each other, but it has never happened, although my neorolgist is happy to do so however this is the only complaint I have with them. So figure best not to make a big deal out of it.

  7. Hi Swan,

Sorry you're not feeling too good at the moment and hope you feel better soon.
I am looking forward to you recieving your in-patient treatment coming up soon.

In terms of medication, I have taken several different ones in the past and have had some nasty side effects, especially whilst on Clomipramine so understand your fears of trying different ones.

I now take Escitalopram and Olanzapine and they both seem to take the edge off things for me, especially the Olanzapine which helps with my anxiety a great deal.

I hope you find the right one for you soon.

    Bridget
