  1. You're telling me about that leak. Pure nightmare that when threatened with a 5K bill to fix it (seriously that what they said) it sends your stress levels rocketing.

She accepts that she might not get benefits if she doesnt go to a Dr. She has agreed that she has to go, for her sake and mine. I just want to keep a roof over her head but with the spiraling costs of supporting her its difficult.

We are both clueless when it comes to benefits, she wouldnt have considered them normally but the situation is now desparate. What sort of help is available? I have spoken to the benefits people who are hit and miss. Some were brilliant, others were just plain rude.

Its no longer a case of where she can put treatment off. She needs help and she needs it now. Her routine of coming to bed at 5am is ruining my work life, luckily my boss is understanding and knows of my situation and we have a guy at work who is a church leader who's wife (whom sadly passed away recently) suffered from depression for years. They are both very helpful and can see when I need to unload and just get out of the office for a while.

The last few weeks have seemed like a tunnel with no light at the end of it, but right now... I feel as though I see a small light.

  2. Hi James
There are many different benefits which may or may not apply to your circumstances. If your girlfriend goes to her GP and is considered unable to work at present because of her OCD this will open up a range of sickness related benefits. If you can manage to get an appointment with a CAB advisor they will be able to tell you which benefits may be appropriate to your situation. You can also access information via the Benfits Agency website and all Benefits offices will have a range of leaflets you can take away and study at home.
