Friendship Requests

    Please could someone tell me how to add a friend to my profile. I have two long standing requests and one new one but nowhere can I find an 'Add Friend' box except in the Users Directory which has an Add Friend box against every name except for the three who have requested friendship! I am also still getting problems with the website - the blue Forums box is half hidden behind the ocdaction logo when I first log on to the site and lots of other little pictures are part hiding links to click on. Also if I try to use the buttons above this is what happens [b]bold, [i]italics, [u]underline, URL (can't seem to work out how to do this one at all)

    [/center][center][/center]center HELP .....
    It was so much easier when we used to operate computers with punched tape.

    Wherever did that blue null come from? And it looks like centre works so why doesn't bold etc. Trudy if your computer doesn't like you mine must detest me.
    Very sorry to those who have requested friendship, I would love you as friends but my comupter not only has OCD but it is unbearably possesive.

    I did ask caps about this a week ago, as (sob sob), you still do not come up as my friend. There are also problems logging on as the submit box comes out too low and I have to shrink my screen to 75% (on the zoom box) to get in. You need binoculars to do this when you have eyesight like mine.

    Hope the weather has improved where you are. The snow is compacted here and I have had to cancel my hair app. as there are still no buses.

    Hi both, we are doing an up-grade of the site today and this should make the friendship process easier and iron out some other little bugs. I'm not sure about the other problems but will chase these up and we will get back to you

    Oh dear, what have I done, I was just trying to create a link to the the main OCD Action website by typing in http://www.ocdaction.org.uk but it has gone to a different link, please check and edit/delete as necessary - SORRY

    Hi Joyce,

    Well you've excelled yourself this time, what have you done to get all that nonsense to appear on the screen?
    Seriously it's a real pain when that sort of thing happens as it's out of your control and you're right we OCDers aren't happy with imperfections, we also hate not being in control.
    Hope it gets resolved soon.

    Hi Netti,
    I used to get that if I tried to send a new message I found it was because I hadn't put anything in the subject bar. Once I realised that I had no problems. Hope this helps.

    I passed this problem on to Sysop and I believe it is one of a number of bugs and improvements that should be resolved in the upgrade scheduled for today. If it still dosen't work let us know.

    Thanks for that but I am still wondering what I did in my nonsence post above. If you click on the blue 'operating system' link which I inadvertently managed to create it goes into a site I have not seen before and then if I search on say 'contamination' it brings up loads of decontamination specialists - well I could do with decontamination but I don't really need Rentokill to come and sort me out! It is now bugging my OCD, is this an old OCD Action site? and if so why does it offer beautiful new free screensavers when you try to come out of it? And then I have to close Internet Explorer to get back into this site
    Sysop, come and save me please from this guilt and embarrassment. Joyce

    That's clever. Would it be possible to do something to the boxes for messaging because the typing goes off the edge of the screen. Maybe move everything to the left to give more room or a slide bar along the bottom of the box like the one up the side. The normal box for posting to the forum which I am using now doesn't have this problem.

    Snap I too didn't realise that you could correct typos after you have posted. I learn something new every day (though don't always retain it)
    Being on the forum has been like doing a mini computer course, I have learnt so much from Sysop, Caps and members of the forum. I'm getting to be quite competent on the computer. So thanks.
