  1. Okay. I have a wives party to attend tonight and am already trying to come up with excuses as to why I can't go as my husband won't be able to pick me up which means I'll have to call a taxi to take me home. The problem I'm having with this senario is the taxi part. It's the weekend and it's also quite common for people to get quite frisky in the back of the taxi at the end of the night when they're heading home with their one-night-stand for the night. So I'm always worried what bodily fluids I might be sitting in and what diseases those bodily fluids could contain. My husband is already noticing my lack of enthusiasm for tonight and I still haven't come up with a good excuse. I fear I might be have to go to the party after all. Yay me

  2. Well I managed to chicken out at the last second and just told my husband that I didn't want to go and now I'm watching Merlin with a glass of wine.

  3. Well, look at it this way - if you didn't chicken out until the last second, that means you kept your nerve for quite a long time. Good for you. Sorry you missed the party, though. Next time you'll manage it.

(Incidentally, you can't catch anything like that off a taxi seat. All these germs have a pretty short lifespan outside the body. Even if there somehow could be something there, it couldn't get in. The body is designed to deal with this kind of thing. I appreciate it's still a pretty revolting thought, though
