  1. I'm doing a bit of research into whether or not there are any astrological signs of OCD. I thought I'd post this again in the hope of getting a little more data, since all being well I'll soon have a computer program ready to analyse it properly at last.

If you have OCD, please could you let me know, here or by private message:
    1) Your date of birth, including year.
    2) Time and place of birth if possible.
    3) Brief note of anything unusual about your OCD. For example, no anxiety, or no physical compulsions, or hoarding only.

When enough dates have been collected, my idea is to analyse them by computer and see if any astrological features occur more often than would be
expected by chance. I'll post my results. I don't intend to examine any horoscopes individually, and will not record who the birth dates, etc. belong to, so it is more or less anonymous.

Please note I've asked this on other forums and newsgroups as well, so please don't reply more than once. Suggestions are very welcome.
    Thanks to everyone,
    Wombat140

  2. Hi Wombat... I'm a Virgo... But I don't know if that will help as twins don't necessarily both suffer the same problems...

  3. Virgo too.

I don't pay much attention to star signs, but according to The Sims (that stupid game), Virgos are incredibly boring bookworms with a love of cleaning and a hatred of partying.

    Charming!

    Good luck,

    Slog

  6. My other half is Saggitarius too, though no OCD to speak of, just annoyance with mine!

  7. My other half is Saggitarius - with some OCD tendencies which he already had when we met - thankfully, because I think that has helped us both to be considerate to each other and make allowances for each other's problems. Over the years he has completely overcome the things which used to drive me to distraction, like having to have his watch set to the time signal and checking it constantly and having to have his shirt cuffs perfectly alligned to a fraction of a millimetre and his shoes balled up like glass. But others which I don't find annoying have taken their place, like his exacting routines for feeding and caring for the animals. I've also managed to overcome the things which drove him to distraction like nail biting. Could this be CBT (Couple Behaviour Therapy)???? He stil knows when I've dusted his bedside cabinet because however much I try to leave everything in it's exact position he notices if it's a hair's width different - but he wouldn't notice the dust has gone.

  8. Thanks very much for the replies, but Sun signs ("star signs") really aren't any use to me by themselves. They're not much use for anything in fact - in real astrology the moon and planets are all nearly as important, and you need the date (and time if possible) for those. Could you see your way to giving me that? (by PM if you prefer.)

Good point about twins, Slog - but then you could say the same about genes, and I think it's generally thought that they do have an effect in OCD. I suppose it's all about susceptibility.

  9. Hi again Wombat, Sept 6th, but I don't have a time... And I don't want to give my exact age away! But I'm in my mid fifties!

  10. Computer program is coming along nicely, so I should be able to work out the results soon. If anyone else wants to contribute before then, they'd be very welcome. (NB Just as a reminder, I really can't do anything with just a Sun sign, or a birthday without a year. Time and place of birth would be nice, but isn't essential.)

  11. That may work okay by pm ing, but I do like to keep my age out of things... I'm in my fifties or so, so maybe that is close enbough?

  13. Hi,

I am a Gemini, June 1960, not sure of time but i think early hours of morning.

  14. No Wannabe, it's not close enough... sorry but by the same time next year, most planets will be in completely different signs; only the Sun will be the same. Likewise, "Gemini June 1960" tells me nothing. It has to be day, month and year, or nothing. (By PM is fine, of course.) If you don't want to do that, that's fine, but I'm afraid some of the date is not better than nothing. It might be for newspaper astrology, but real astrology is a completely different animal!

Sorry, just didn't want anyone wasting their time. Anyhow, it might be a month or two longer, I've run into difficulties with the computer program - grr!

  15. Hi there, let us know when you get your program up and running again, and I'll try and find out the extra info, and PM it to you. I don't really mind my age, it is something you get used to as you get older!

  16. Thanks very much. Actually, I'm planning to analyse the information as soon as the program's ready - I'm writing it myself and keep bumping into things I don't know how to do - so I'm collecting as much information as I can before then. So any time, really
