  1. Hi Everyone,

I just recently posted on me finally getting outside for the first time in years and do feel a bit positive over it all but new and old things have cropped up and I'm scared they will take over. Firstly I'm kind of developing a bit of an eating disorder and really worry about my appearance and secondly the depression is back and its overwhelming me. I'm so lonely and all I want is to meet some friends and have a social life. I want to meet a nice girl and have a relationship but have no experience in life let alone in love. I talk to a few people online and one friend calls me regularly and that is so lovely and I really enjoy it but then it sometimes makes me realise just how so lonely I am. When I'm not talking to friends I really miss them! Silly I know but they are probably the only good thing in my life. I love my family but feel in the way and not understood. I hope I haven't gone on too much I do tend to. I hope evryone is o.k. Take care

  2. Hi Daniel, its nice to speak to you again after such a long time ! i am so sorry that your depression is quite bad at the moment but try not to let it take over you.
I was thrilled to read that you have been getting out of the house for short walks.... thats a brilliant step forward is'nt it Daniel !?
Eating disorders are part of our depression, its a common thing. I tend to over eat when depressed because its a comfort for me, i am not sure if you are over eating or not eating enough Dan...can you elaborate a little on that.

Now you are venturing out a little you might eventually meet a nice young lady who will like you for who you are ! it does'nt matter that you have no experience in the love thingy ....love comes naturally when you meet the right person for you !

I know how good it is to speak to people on here that understand what we are going through, our families DO love us but they cannot possibly understand the amount of anxiety and pain that we go through in our day to day living.

Good to talk to you after all this time Daniel,
    Take care

  3. Thanks for your reply. I'm not eating much at all at the moment and eating kind of scares me a bit. I worry about my weight and my appearance and just don't want to bother with any of it.

    Take care

  4. Daniel, i have remembered why you struggle with eating but you must remember it is important to eat because you must keep your strength up.
I hope you can overcome those irrational fears you have about eating very soon.

Dear Daniel, I don't think relationships are something that you need to work through, by that I mean you don't need to gradually build up experience by having several girlfriends over the years. I have friends who discovered that their first love was their soul mate. As Brennie said, love will come naturally when you meet the right person. You are such a giving, selfless person that the sharing and give and take essential to a good relationship will just come naturally to you.

I am worried about your concerns with weight and your appearance, you are perfect just as you are! If you are not eating adequate nutrients that in itself will lead to depression and possibly a worsening of your OCD. I know that the longer an obsession has a hold on us the harder it tends to be to shake off. I have suffered eating disorders in the past, both over and under eating. I can recall when I ate very little (five yogurts a day and nothing else) for a year, how in control I felt, despite being very depressed and underweight. It is frightening how on some online sites people actually encourage each other to eat less and less.

I would really try to stop weighing yourself. I was told not to, years ago. Your exercise is going to do you so much good, but if you don't eat well you will lose the energy and the incentive.

    Love, Tricia x

P.S. Brennie, how are you doing? I don't know if you received my messages.

Daniel, I forgot to say, in my experience very few families do understand, so please try not to take it personally. It must be very difficult for anyone to really empathize unless they have first-hand experience of this illness. Tricia xx
