Yeah, but wheres my dance partner going to come from. You know it would be great to have a sign, even if it isn't something as obvious as a star in the sky that only I can see. So perhaps a 4x4 crashing through my back garden would suffice

Sorry, I don't see the relevance of a 4x4 "crashing" through your back garden. Have you got anything against 4x4s or do you just share the media fuelled prejudice against them. All I can really think of is that your knowlege of cars and driving is about as good as my dancing - someone once said that I have four left feet - so is that your analogy?

Oh, no that wasn't what I was getting at
I was referring to a religeous sign, but emphasised that that would be too cheesy. In that regards, I decided that a 4x4 plowing through my garden would be a better sign that I would soon get a dance partner

Should be getting informed tomorrow that my latest possibility has decided not to pursue dancing with me
You have to get the right partner and that may take some time. I don't know anything about dancing except that I can't do it, but when you see talented people like you dancing together in perfect harmony then you can see why you have to have the right partner.
the only problem is that there seems to be a gap in the market. The talented dancers expect you to dance 3 times a week i.e. a 1hr private lesson and 3 practises of 2 hours per session. I could at most manage 1 private lesson (1 hr) and 2 practises (1.5hrs per session). The second day of practise would need to be authorised by work though, so I can get the time off, but its usually fine.
As I say, there is a big chasm. You could have people wanting dance partners for pure beginner level (once a week for 45mins - 1 hr) and then suddenly you'd have those at pre-champ level, who practise 3 times a week, on the imperial or ISDT syllabus for open competitions. There doesn't seem to be anybody in between
