  1. Hi all,

Had a bad day in terms of OCD - as those of you who have read my previous posts know, my OCD relates to checking things at work to ensure everything is correct.

Had a really hectic day today and slipped a bit - checked one thing more times than I should and it just started what if worries in my heAd - my head just feels really heavy and achey - does anybody else get this? Thought I'd come on here as talking to other OCDers has helped me more than anything else.

Hope everybody else had a better day

  2. Hi Andy,

Sorry to hear that you've had a hectic day at work and that the OCD has crept back. It's not nice is it?

I find that I can be doing quite well and then have one set back, possibly think that I haven't turned something off and so go to check it and all of a sudden the OCD goes into hyper drive and then everything takes so long to do as continually checking everything. It takes ages to calm down and to gradually get the amount of checking back to the previous level. If I get annoyed with myself because I've slipped that too makes the OCD worse. I find that I just have to try and accept that I've had a bad day and not be too hard on myself.

Try and relax and treat yourself this evening and start afresh tomorrow.

  3. Hi Andy,

Sorry you have had a setback, you will soon get back on track hopefully. I too have had a really hard time with anxiety lately and over the weekend I have had a cleaning and ordering setback, I haven't done this for a few months now.
I think anxiety levels reached such a high level that it was inevitable that the cleaning was the only way I knew how to cope, although I know it was the wrong thing to do.

Like you I am not going to beat myself up over it and just look forward to a new day tomorrow when things will be better.

    Take care
    Bridget

  4. Hi Carboy, sorry to hear you had a rough day, OCD is better some day's than others, but just keep fighting it the best you can, Yes, the heavy head, I have had that way to many times to count, it is almost like the head out weighs the rest of us, and it comes along with a headache, It is likely due to stress, Stress does take a big toll on us physically. You will get past this, It will get better, I have been there and I understand your pain, the past few days for me have been a little difficult as well with different stress factors popping up one right after another. Hang in there, and you will feel better soon. I hope tomorrow will be a wonderful day for you.

  5. Hi people,

thank you so much for your posts - reading them has made me feel better - your comments are comforting. It's strange how one little "over check" can cause you to spiral into a bad OCD checker and worrier. I'm so determined that OCD will not win - I'm going to beat it and this forum is helping tremendously so thank you everybody

hope everybody had a nice day
