  1. Hi changed to sertraline about 6 weeks ago after being on prozac for 10 years then recently tried clomipramine. First started off on 50 mg then 10 days ago it got doubled to 100mg. Still feel really bad so needing to take diazapan also. Feel really bad as just got over a tooth infection but feel like I am scared and just want to stay in bed all day as I'm terrified something bad is going to happen. Feel reallly crippled with fear and depression. Does anyone else take this drug and what dosage as I feel 100mg is not working for me. Thank you

  2. My son is taking Sertraline and is on 150mg daily. It did take quite a while to get up to that amount but it has helped. Keep with it I am sure it will kick in soon, but maybe worth going back to the doc for further advice

  4. Thank you for your replies. I have had a really stressful time lately with the infected tooth as I had two lots of antibiotics which didnot work then had to go to the emergency dentist at the weekend. My 17 year old daughter past her driving test three weeks ago and although I am delighted that she past first time I worry about her when she is driving on her own. She is very sensible but still cannot stop worrying. I started seeing a cbt therapsit in August but she has been off ill for the last three sessions and I donot know when she is coming back. Really need her at the moment to try to rationalise things with me but I know you guys on this website will be there for me.
You are right Gayle I think I need to go back and see the doctor as this dosage doesnot seem to be high enough for me.I am pleased to hear your son is being helped by his dosage of sertraline.
Brennie - Sorry to hear that you are feeling ill also. It really is a crippling thing to suffer from. I have suffered for 21 years but even after all this time sometimes it really scares me how bad I feel. At the moment I feel like a frightened child who just wants to curl up into a ball and hide. The only time I donot feel afraid is when I am asleep so feel like spending most of my life at the moment in bed. Totally know how you are feeling and my sympathy goes out to you. Lets hope we will be feeling a little bit better soon. x

  5. i tried sertraline for a couple of weeks...a 25mg daily dose drove my anxiety sky high...seems i am not tolerant of it and the similar drugs (prozac etc) so now the pyshciatrist wants me to start clomipramine ( i last took it in 2006) and i tolerated it ok then, but i was very "hazy" on it.
but seeing as my OCD is at an all time high, and i have "significant" depression ( have suicidal ideation (though not as bad this weekend) i just want to be drugged out of it. what a way to live my life
had a stay in hospital which really got my contamination fears going, now i'm at an all time low. they changed my drugs to citilapram in the hospital, i am sure they were really screwing my mind up
sometimes i wonder whether the drugs help...some have made me worse

  6. Sorry to hear you are having such a bad time of it ocd. Its not easy finding the right medication and horrible coming off one then gradually going on to another. While I've been changing tablets some days I've just wanted to stay in bed. Some days I wake up feeling so so depressed and totally understand the feeling of wanting to be drugged up to take the horribleness of it all away.I'm definetely going back to the doctors this week as I donot think this current dosage is high enough. Take care.
