well just listen to You all....So very caring and considerate!Really...
Not the sort of people that should be suffering..or feeling guilty.
I think you are all special people who are sensitive...(thats one reason
you've ended up with OCD)

Hi Guys,
I have planned to meet up with a friend for lunch on Saturday, hope it goes ok, and that they don't back out
Hi Jon, good stuff, hope it works out okay...
Hi Wolfen, I agree with you there... So many people in the world just don't worry about anything, and me, I worry about everything... I'm trying so hard to rebuild my life... But it isn't easy... I'm optimistic that once I get back to CBT things will improve... But I've been waiting ages...
Wannabe
Just saw your post Wolfen, thats a nice analogy
Wannabe did you once do CBT? I did intensive treatment at Maudsley, but its been very difficult to keep it up, because I did 5 days and that was it
But they are very good there, it's just on my part that I'm finding it hard to do my bit.
Jon
Hi Jon, yes, I did a course of CBT a couple of years ago, so just remember bits of it. I try to do the behavioural side of exposure response prevention, I can't remember the cognitive stuff, and I think that is why I struggle so much with it all... I often wish it wasn't so damn difficult...
Wannabe
Hi Wannabe
I know what you mean. As my therapy happened so quickly, I find it difficult to come to terms with it. And because of school and stuff, I just find it hard to fit it all in
Hi Jon,
Pretend that you're still having CBT and set aside an hour each week to go through what you were taught at the Maudsley. Were your sessions recorded? If so use them as a basis for each session. If you get stuck you can always ask for help from your local therapist or on here.
Re-evaluate your goals to ensure that they are achievable. You need short, medium and long term goals. If you set them too high you will become demoralised and want to give up so make them achievable and regularly revise them to up the ante.
Keep a record of all your OCD achievements no matter how small. This way you can see just how far you've come. And you have come a long way, you've only to look at your posts on here to see that. You're becoming more confident, more positive and you're great at helping others.
Try to concentrate more on what you can do rather than what you can't do and work on building up your confidence and self-esteem as these are essential tools for conquering your OCD.

And yes Max this is a great place to be if you're in the need of support. You can always depend on the people on here
Jon
Hi everyone, yes, I agree this forum has been an absolute lifesaver for me. I like the support I get on here, it lifts my self esteem, and just to know that others are going through similar things helps to make the journey lighter.
I'm apprehensive of going on CBT, and getting a new job one day, and it feels good that we're going through this thing together.
Wannabe
I LOVE this forum. Not only is everyone extremely nice and understanding but it feels like ine big family. This is my favorite OCD site I've been on.
Oh and I hope you have a great time on Saturday, playthoseblues. Just have fun. It's worth a shot right?
tell us how it goes!
Hi Guys,
Yes I will
I've got my driving theory test today so I'm not at school!
But I'll be ok!
Jon
Hi Jon, how did your theory test go?
I'm so old that I didn't have to do one, I just did the practical stuff... I don't drive at the moment because of my meds, but will do again soon. The freedom of driving a car is fantastic, though I have to be honest and say I like travelling by bus. I am just idle that's all!
Wannabe
I travel by bus to work in the holidays and to school! Nothing wrong with it
I can't wait to start to drive, my OCD last year was adamant that I wasn't going to drive because of the doubt of hurting someone, but I've got this far.
I PASSED!!
Hi Jon, Congratulations on passing! That's one you haven't got to do again!
Chat again soon,
Wannabe
