  1. I am 16 years old and suffer from innapropriate sexual intrusive thoughts. I have been through a rough patch recently. It was really bad. But I am feeling a lot better now and am recieving CBT and am on medication. Recently, I have really liked a guy. I am very attracted to him and would like to have a normal relationship with him. However, I do not feel like I could have a boyfriend because of my OCD. It would be EXTREMLY hard for me. He doesn't like me, but we are good friends and so I see him everyday at college. The situation is complicated anyway, but with OCD it's just a bit messy. Any advise?

  2. Hi Alice, from personal experience i know ocd has often made me feel like i cant have good things eg a normal relationship with a girl i liked. eg various other fun things life has to offer. Sometimes i make the mistake of listening to ocd and it always gives me plenty of reasons not to do things eg this may go wrong eg come on you know you're not normal eg look what happened that time before! When i dont listen to ocd and ignore it and just do what i want to do I have some fun. I understand that your situation is complicated but it may not be as complicated as the ocd part of you is suggesting. Unfortunately ocd is the great Catastrophizer, it takes the worst possible outcome (even if remote) and makes it feel likely. It wants the sufferer to avoid feeling and relaxing. Whether this guy wants relationship or not, one will so try to believe this as i'm sure you're a nice girl
