  1. Does anyone on here who suffers from OCD, also feel that they may suffer from/or have been diagnosed with ADHD? I have read that there may be a link between the two.

  3. Hi Number 6, I do believe there is a link as I have had both all my life. I also believe that the two conditions together can be very hard to deal with at times, as one cam make the other one worse.

  4. Hi Swan ! Many thx for your reply to my post. I too have heard about the link between autism adhd and OCD.
Hi Rena ! I read your reply with interest and feel that you and I may have something in common as I also have suffered from both And you are right - one can sometimes make the other worse. I would be interested to hear how the ADHD has/still affects you, and does it have positive benefits, such as increased ability to excel in particular fields, due to dogged determination to "keep on going" (eg when one is learning a new skill/venturing out into new territory)
    Thanks!

  5. Hi Number 6, yes ADHD still affects me, I never sit still, I am always fidgeting, but, I do believe having ADHD does have it's positive benefits, as it helps me to excel and stay ahead at almost everything. It gives me determination, and the ability to get things done. The drawbacks are short attention span, I think that comes in because the ADHD has us doing so many things at once and our minds lose track at times. It also makes me misplace things, as my mind is going constantly and I may not be focusing on where I put my keys or ect...I notice that if I am busy doing a task then I don't hear what others may be saying to me, I may acknowledge that they are talking to me, but 5 minutes later, I don't have a clue what they just said. I guess it has it's good points and bad, but the OCD is more bad than good. OCD causes me to analyze things from every angle, which can be good sometimes, but can also make me worry excessively from analyzing to much. I had ADHD before I had OCD. I do love to learn new skills.

  6. Wow Rena, thats ironic..... you could be talking about me, when you describe yourself... seems that ADHD can at times be a double edged sword, but am glad, that like me, you have found it to be beneficial, as it helps you stay ahead of the game and excel I like learning new skills too as its a lot of fun, and it helps one stay young (mentally at least lol
