  1. Hi everyone.
Having been a teenager through to my early 20's in the 80's I'm delighted to see Adam Ant making a come back and touring in the UK!
Here's the thing, I've bought 2 tickets to see him live at the 02 Greenwich London on 26th May
Remember Prince Charming, goodie 2 shoes?
The ageing process has taken it's toll on his body but he is still as eccentric as ever!
I have 2 tickets. Anyone Adam Ant fans be interested in coming with me?
    My friend cant make it!

Too far away for me, but looks like I'm similar ages ( a little older perhaps) and would have loved to go. I could have put that stripe of White make up across my nose, got the cavalier jacket out of mothballs and practiced my "huh!"

    Now I'm the dandy highwayman......

Do post a review of the show.

  3. Hi Ratwomble!
    Your post made me smile!
I read somewhere on a magazine article that grown men still come up to him wearing the white stripes on their noses!!
He is apparantly doing some of his old songs at the gigs, but mainly he has been doing 'covers' which reviews were not too impressed with.......also he is promoting some new songs!
He still looks good at aged 55!
I like his slower more sensitive song ''Wonderful'', but the old catchy ones are also great!
''Dont you ever, dont you ever, stop being dandy showing me your handsome'' eeeaaayyy are ayyyy are! LOL
    :D

  4. It's a difficult thing when someone like that plays a gig and doesn't do the classics.

I took the family to see Madness last November and they were brilliant. They just did all the hits and everyone sang along and had a great time.. But I've always liked their later stuff that didn't chart and would have liked to have heard some of that.

So they can't win can they?

Actually we should be having this discussion in "Jon's record store". I'm sure I saw a boxed set of Adam and the ants in there somewhere. Mind you, the way I look, I'll qualify for next years old age pension

    Yours with foreams crossed,

    David

  5. What's this about "old age" pension??? When you reach the qualifying age you can still wear white eye stripes. Never forget the very best wine has to be well matured.
Don't suppose Jon can find a vinyl of John Leyton "Jonny, remember me"?

  6. Since jon's shop is a magical shop, it can find anything.

Now unplug the juke box, and do us all a favour.

  7. Oh David, what a cruel thing to say about lovely Jonny. The juke box is staying plugged in and I bet you a Scottish pound all the songs will be back again. Can you find "Ginny come lately", my eye stripes are hampering my search.

  8. Jen.

Can you please save my reputation with Tess?

  9. Good job I opened my e-mails before I saw this or this dinosaur would have wondered what everyone's talking about.
No, I didn't know that the references were to do with Adam Ant songs and yes, I did take it personally but only as a joke - but having lived for over 38 years with a man who puts the toilet rolls on the supermarket belt and then leans across to the checkout operator and announces "wife's cooking tonight" I can cope with a joke. Must admit I did wonder if David was getting his own back for something I said about chasing granite balls with floor mops.

  11. I am so glad we sorted that out. Now I can spend my cash on looking flash and grabbing your attention.

Oh, and if you see Jon, tell him that the devil can take his stereo and his record collection.

    Thanks
