OCD Week is 7th to 13th of February this year.
Go to http://www.ocdaction.org.uk/articles/ocd-week-7th-13th-february-2011/
for the latest information on OCD Week.
Do you mean this website or your website Dazz and if the latter who do you represent?
Dazz, Just had a look on your profile and found your website and the following:
Second day of promoting OCD today - I'm sure you guys can help me find our unique selling point for the future. What's not worth writing a whole story about?
I'm feeling distinctly uncomfortable about "promoting" and "unique selling point", in fact I feel a bit nauseus. Are we talking about OCD, one of the top ten most debilitating human disorders or a designer product???
Yes, it does read rather strangely! (The "What's not worth..." part seems to be automatic, it's not part of the posting.) But what bothers me more is that I can't actually find any other mention of OCD on the site! If it's there, it's well hidden.
Seems like spam or exploitation to me. Sorry if you're genuine, but it just strikes me as odd.
Hi guys - really sorry about it coming across as exploitative. I've only just found out that some of my friends have OCD or symptoms similar to OCD. As I'm involved with a website in science communications (www.elements-science.co.uk) I am looking to try to get some articles up on mental health awareness. Sorry if it seemed a little crass and forward.
With Twitter I try to be a bit humorous, but I've yet to really work out the best way to do that in fewer than 140 characters. Again, sorry for any offence caused. I really do want this to be a quality series of articles done tastefully and informatively.
Thanks for letting me know the dates. I'll try to get stuff written to coincide with it.

Hi Dazz
As you've got off on rather a bad foot with firstly an inappropriate link followed by a website which members have described as "nauseous", "spam" and "exploitation" and, in your own words "crass", this particular OCD sufferer is wondering if you are the right person to get involved, certainly without learning a great deal more about OCD. This is a serious condition and we need the right messages going out to the public.
OCD sufferers are hypersensitive, can be very deeply hurt, have low self esteem and an enhanced sense of personal responsibility. OCD does not necessarily come alone, it often goes hand in hand with depression. There is an army of medical professionals still trying to understand and treat it - are you up to the challenge and are you able to do it justice. If your motives are DazzMcGuiness I say forget it. If your motives are more altruistic I say wait and learn - OCD isn't going to go away. I have over 40 years experience of living with this condition and it's consequences and my knowledge is still only the tip of the iceberg.
Hi again, I'm really sorry if I've confused anyone.
I've just spoken to OCD Action and explained myself a little better. Essentially having found out about the charity my intentions were to 'promote' (make people more aware - really should have chosen my language more carefully) the charity and the work it does through the outlets that I have and the connections I've got, and raise awareness of OCD among my peers and colleagues.
I am partially aware of some of the situations that sufferers have and I do want to learn more, while writing as I go to let others know what I'm finding out who might not ordinarily think about the topic.
I truly am sorry if I've come across a little hot-headed and overly enthusiastic as I understand this is something that can be far more severe than my previous understanding, somewhat misinterpreted from what I've learned in the media, has shown me. I will tread with more caution as I go, and hopefully repair some of the damage I have already caused.
Once again, sorry.

Hi Dazz
So pleased you have spoken with OCD Action and made your intentions clear. You haven't done any damage, in fact it's only because you said you are not an OCD sufferer that I have been a bit blunt and hard hitting in my postings - if you did have OCD you would by now be going over and over it all in your mind, worrying incessantly and licking your wounds after what I've written - and probably hiding yourself away.
If OCD Action are happy with you and what you want to do then so am I because I have every faith in this organisation.
