I only read the first removed message and it was impossible to edit. All of us who are writing at present know what was said so your messages do make sense. Hi all forum members. Once again a huge thankyou for the kindness and help you have given me over the past 7 weeks. You have been a huge help in my recovery. I guess I have about 85% control at present and the thoughts are the main remaining problem. I hope that everyone on the forum will be treated with the same kindness as me from now on. There are two important reasons why. 1. We do not want to frighten new members from joining. 2.Just because we do not understand someone's problems we still should give them our undivided and unconditional support. It now appears to anyone reading this thread that I may have made some random attack on another member without justification, as her message has been removed in its entirety. Caps, in these circumstances would it not be preferable to edit a sentence and then notify the person concerned, rather than leaving the edit note in the way in which you have? Also my comment about a 'sell-by date' no longer makes any sense, nor does Wombat's referrence to 'twaddle'. I ask this because I know a bit about different types of medication, and their side effects. Perhaps I could alleviate your reluctance. Apart from my curiosity: here's crossed fingers for you. Somehow we're all in the same boat, despite the many guises of OCD and related disorders. I think the world, including the clinical world, should know a lot more about the predicament. There's 1 thing I haven't been able to do yet and I really want to because my psychologist asked a couple of weeks ago. I have thought about meds before - but I just don't take them. My psychologist did say I probably would have been fine now, if there hadn't been other things, so all the OCD stuff stopped for a while. Yeah I guess it doesn't matter what they call it - I know how it is. I will have to see myself as going down a slow rambling hill and not as walking over a precipice - which is how I see it at present. The progress with your OCD will speed up if you use medication. I have made more progress than I could ever have dreamed of in the last 7 weeks. And I would not have been able to do this without the medication. Lots of us on this site are on medication and we do not see it as a problem it is no different than taking medication for conditions such as high blood pressure or diabetes. Don't worry about the fancy titles they give to your illness. I have had my condition called by different titles since I had it. I was also told I could not get better by many of my so-called specilaists. The only thing which matters is to get yourself better as quickly as possible and I am here to help. I also have a phobia about escalators and I have two conferences to go to in London. So I needed to overcome it. I mastered going up after 4 goes much to my surprise. Next time I have to master going down which is far scarier. I hate taking medication but I would not have been able to face my fears this time without medication. Seven weeks ago I was so very ill that I could not walk past the inside of my front door without having a panic atack. I also could not open the front door to any callers so I have not been able to order my wine for Xmas yet. With my small dose of medication I can face each of my fears without the fear going up to 10. In fact the fear is about three now - which is great! Would it not be worth trying medication? It might make you feel a lot better. I would love to see you well again and going out and enjoying yourself without fear.
