Hi Glad,

Well done, I know that you had been dreading doing the escalators. You really have come such a long way in so short a space of time. An inspiration to us all.
I've definitely over exercised today - as it's only a Sunday service couldn't afford to miss the bus when I went shopping today. Had to do a geriatric sprint to the bus stop and boy are my ankle and hips playing up now. I feel about 90 years old. Think that I'll stick to finger exercises for a while it's safer!

Hi

Exercise over
Escalator up
.
.
.
.
Escalator down

4 times in all. The first time I have done this in years.
Terrifying the first time but it got easier each time.
Roll on the conference. I will learn to love underground stations. I will, I will, I will

Hi Glad,
Did you need to resort to another box of chocolates and do you now have a fully functioning phone system?
Just think of the days when you didn't even need to plug in the phone BT or rather the GPO used to do it for you. Technology is marvellous until it either defeats you or it goes wrong.
Good luck with your new toy.

Hi all

Both address books done now after so many previous futile attempts. I am now totally exhausted. I should have stuck to the gym.

Best

Hi all,
Both my fingers and my brain are suffering from RSI as a result of one and a half days of trying to programme my new phone. You need a PhD in gobbledygook to understand the instructions as they are more complicated than flat pack furniture instructions.

I have got the date and time right and a lovely Beethoven ringtone - but I can't get the answerphone to work properly. I am not sure if the phone is working as no-one has phoned me. You try ringing on your mobile and trying to answer the call on your landline. As I can't throw voices it is simply impossible. The only good thing is that I now have plenty of numbers to fill the address book as a result of the new friends I have made. The question is how to fill it - as I have never done this on my landline before.

I finally gave up and watched 'Curious George' on the TV instead. The Radio Times said it was only suitable for those under 7 years old. I enjoyed it so much maybe I should call a seven year old around to my house to programme the phone.

To top it all I have not lost an ounce of weight as a result of this strenuous exercise. In fact I got so anxious I have eaten a box of chocolates in the process.

A frazzled and bad tempered Glad

Hi Joyce,

All computers have OCD, they ritualise everything they do and they can't deviate from the way that they do things. Unfortunately unlike us they will always be like that unless of course they come up with a new way of getting them to work.

Your keyboard is called 'Genius' because as you know most people with OCD are intelligent caring individuals plus as well as the OCD he might have dyslexia so a little patience is required.

Perhaps as part of his OCD your keyboard is seeking reassurance from you, don't play to his fears but give him plenty of encouragement when he manages to do things right. Like us he can't help it.

Hi Caps
My mouse finger has RSI too and can you tell me why my keyboard is called "Genius" but it won't spell right unless I just use two fingers and watch it all the time.

Thanks Caps,
Too much for first day - have sprained my finger with all the scrolling, don't forget I had to turn the pc on first and so have overdone it with the exercise!

Now that Christmas is over you may like to try this exercise routine to work off any excess weight you have put on. If you're over 30, you might want to take it easy at first, then do it faster as you become more proficient. It may be too strenuous for some. Always consult your doctor before starting any exercise programme!

SCROLL DOWN...

.
.
.
.
.
.
.
.
.
.
.

Don't stop

.
.
.
.
.
.
.
.
.
.

Keep going

.
.
.
.
.
.
.

NOW SCROLL UP..

NOW BACK UP AND DOWN AGAIN.

.
.
.
.
.
.

That's enough for the first day. Great job.

Don’t want to overdo it!
