The talented dancers expect you to dance 3 times a week i.e. a 1hr private lesson and 3 practises of 2 hours per session. I could at most manage 1 private lesson (1 hr) and 2 practises (1.5hrs per session). The second day of practise would need to be authorised by work though, so I can get the time off, but its usually fine. As I say, there is a big chasm. You could have people wanting dance partners for pure beginner level (once a week for 45mins - 1 hr) and then suddenly you'd have those at pre-champ level, who practise 3 times a week, on the imperial or ISDT syllabus for open competitions. I don't know anything about dancing except that I can't do it, but when you see talented people like you dancing together in perfect harmony then you can see why you have to have the right partner. Have you got anything against 4x4s or do you just share the media fuelled prejudice against them. All I can really think of is that your knowlege of cars and driving is about as good as my dancing - someone once said that I have four left feet - so is that your analogy? None of us are laughing at you only with you. You've got to have a little faith in yourself otherwise you'll give people entirely the wrong impression, that is people will start to think that you've given up on yourself.
