Hi mattwords
I think your psychologist is going to have to eat his words and hopefully sooner rather than later.

OCD and ASD are strongly believed to originate in the same part of the brain by certain OCD experts, the belief being that damage to this area may stimulate various chemical changes in the brain. Its something my psychologist and I disagree over good naturedly as he believes its more of a learned response either to trauma or from a family member.

Thanks. <strike>Legal... Hmmm, this will be very hard.....</strike> (jokein')
I use my writing and my stories to escape from my OCD and other problems which is probley why I don't like to write about OCD.... But, if my stories can help someone else escape too then that would be awesomesause. <img src="http://www.ocdaction.org.uk/forums/bb-plugins/bb-smilies/default/icon_biggrin.gif" title=":D" class="bb_smilies" />

Thanks. It's just OCD and ASD traits are so similar it's hard to distingush which is which and they impact on each other. Very annoying! <img src="http://www.ocdaction.org.uk/forums/bb-plugins/bb-smilies/default/icon_rolleyes.gif" title="" class="bb_smilies" /> I think I need a <strike>nice big gun</strike> magic wand to <strike>kill <img src="http://www.ocdaction.org.uk/forums/bb-plugins/bb-smilies/default/icon_twisted.gif" title="" class="bb_smilies" /> </strike> get rid of my OCD. It's such a pain in the <strike>posterior</strike> neck.

Hi Jess,

Welcome to the forum.

Submisions for the creative corner can be about anything. There are a lot of talented people with OCD and this is an opportunity to show or share your creatativity, anything goes so long as it is decent and legal and is not advertising.

Your suggestion is excellent, many thanks for it, I will see if one of our medical advisers can put something together.

Best wishes,
Caps

First, the question:

Do submissions to the creative corner need to be OCD-related or can they be about anything? (I find OCD upsetting to think about)

Second, the suggestion:

I'm not sure how to phrase this but here it goes. *deep breath*
Something I think would be really helpful is some kind of infomation of impacts other disorders and mental health problems can have on OCD. For example, Autism, which is very much like OCD and it's hard to distingush the two from each other. Espeecially if you happen to have both as it all impacts on each other.

Anyways, that's my spamming done. Please to be telling me what yous all think.
