Getting Involved
Getting Involved, Help
OCD Action’s mountain man Peter Kinloch is at it again. This time, Peter is tackling the big one – Everest. You can support Peter and help raise funds for OCD Action by visiting his fundraising page here.
“For some reason that I cannot explain, I have always been drawn towards mountains. Since the age of eight, I had a picture of Mount Kilimanjaro on my bedroom wall and vowed that one day I would climb it.
“I am lucky enough to have friends who train with me most weekends as yet more of the UK Munros are ticked off the list. Having reached the summit of Kilimanjaro in 2005, I embarked on the ambitious plan to undertake the Seven Summits Challenge (the highest peak in each continent). Each time I climb, I try to raise awareness and some sponsorship for the charity OCD Action.
“The aim of the trip is to raise awareness of the charity OCD Action and the good work they do. The charity is committed to working with people that have Obsessive Compulsive Disorder and trying to help them improve their quality of life. Previously I have climbed Mount Kilimanjaro (Tanzania), Mount Elbrus (Russia), Mount Aconcagua (Argentina) and Mount Denali, along with summitting Fox Glacier and Franz Josef Glacier (New Zealand), all in order to raise the profile of OCD Action. Let’s hope I can add Everest to the list, as I work towards completing the holy grail of the Seven Summits Challenge!”
